Names in Mission Control
Your names, colours and icons sit right where Apple's “Desktop N” labels are, in both the collapsed bar and the full thumbnail view. They follow the bar as it opens and disappear the moment Mission Control closes.
SpaceNames gives every macOS desktop a name, colour and icon. They appear in the menu bar, when you switch, and right inside Mission Control, where Apple only says “Desktop 1, Desktop 2…”.

SpaceNames only adds labels. It never moves, resizes or hides your windows, and it doesn't need System Integrity Protection turned off.

See which desktop you're on at a glance, as plain text or a coloured pill. Click any desktop in the menu to jump to it.
Swipe between desktops and the name appears for a moment, then fades. Choose its size, position, colour and how long it stays.
Choose from preset colours or any custom colour. For icons, pick an SF Symbol, any emoji, or your own logo (PNG, JPEG, SVG or PDF).
Run any Shortcut from the Shortcuts app when you land on a desktop, for example to turn on a Focus mode or open your tools. Swiping past a desktop won't trigger it.
Get one small app per desktop to pin in docks like uBar. Click one to go straight to that desktop.
No accounts and no tracking. SpaceNames goes online only once, to activate your licence. Everything else stays on your Mac, and you can export it all to a single backup file.
Drag SpaceNames to Applications. It lives in your menu bar.
A short welcome guide walks you through it. SpaceNames uses it only to read Mission Control and to switch desktops for you.
Open Space Options and give each desktop a name, colour and icon, all in one window.

No. Everything SpaceNames draws is kept out of Mission Control's window thumbnails, App Exposé and the ⌘-Tab switcher.
To read where Mission Control draws its Spaces bar, so the labels line up, and to press the “Switch to Desktop” shortcut when you click a desktop in the menu. It doesn't read the contents of your windows.

Yes. SpaceNames follows each desktop's identity, not its position, so names, colours and icons move with the desktop. If you close a desktop, its settings wait under “Unassigned” so you can move them onto another one.
SpaceNames pauses and offers to buy or enter a licence. Your names, colours and icons are kept, and everything comes back as soon as you enter a key.
